Quota Brisbane members were looking forward to visiting the sheds for Care Kits for Kids Queensland  at Camp Hill. Backpacks are filled by volunteers with items to assist young people in care and those in crisis. We were aiming to learn more about the work they do and how we might assist them.

From the sewing of clothes, cloth bags of various sizes, knitting and crochet of stress balls, toys and rugs to making jewellery and packing the backpacks, the organisation is impressive. Transport was raised as an issue as they attempt to deliver the requested packs to places all over Queensland.

They cater for little ones to teenagers putting in those little touches to show the community cares. The cloth heart sewn with love which is included in each pack is something to be treasured or passed onto someone to show they care.

Eva and Daisy were inspired, collecting patterns for toys and hearts. We are looking forward to seeing what they create at our next meeting.
