A Showcase of Student Film productions demonstrated the progress made over the six week course before a presentation was made. The recipients were to be presented with a trophy donated by the Quota Club of Brisbane and $ from the Quota Club of Beenleigh who also sponsored the event. Declan was there to recieved the Best Film award for his ‘ Prop Gun’ production. Jules who won the ‘Best Script’ and Joel, the ‘Best Director’ were presented with their trophies later as they were not at the Showcase on the day.
Of special mention goes to Jesse who presented his film in animation. It was outstanding and demonstrated his skill and creativity. In a discussion after the presentation, Jesse was asked if he would share his skills with students the following year. He agreed using sign language. All of the students involved were hard of hearing. The Quota Brisbane members who attended were impressed with the progress of the students. Credit goes to Sherri Brereton who Coordinated the program. Sherri attended a special meeting held at the Room of Roses in Brisbane City where she enlightened us about the Hear For You Program which supported youth who were hard of hearing through the Shepherd Centre. Our contribution was the three trophies engraved with the names of the categories and the recipient.
