The Quota Club of Brisbane sponsored the National Council of Women of Queensland (NCWQ) fundraising event by providing raffle prizes. The event held at Miegunyah House, the home of the Women’s Museum. Morning tea was followed by a tour of the Museum. Funds raised supported bringing the Red Dress to Brisbane and the NCWQ Bursary Program. Dr Rachael Murray from the NCWQ Bursary Team spoke about the thirty-seven bursaries available in 2026 and Janelle Byrne from the Queensland Women’s Historical Association (QWHA) about the Red Dress Project. The Red Dress will be on display at the Museum of Brisbane from late in July, through August until the 13th September. The dress represents peace and worldwide cooperation. Over three hundred embroiderers from over eighty countries including Australia participated in the embroidery. It is touring the world. Expected to arrive in Australia mid July, it will be on display in Warick during the Jumpers and Jazz Festival before coming to Brisbane.
The raffle prizes donated included three packages which included a Quota Brisbane candle, a spray and soaps. Money raised on the day of $600 was shared between the two projects.
