Join the Quota Club of Brisbane for Devonshire Tea 10 a.m. the Shingle Inn City Hall before viewing the Red Dress Exhibit at the Museum of Brisbane (MoB). Funds raised will support Zephyr Education a Brisbane based not-for-profit organisation supporting children who are out of home. A local organisation who are run entirely by volunteers and funded by donations is now supporting children Australia wide and the demand keeps growing. Your support will help them provide school uniforms, school bags, books and other necessary items when they relocate to start a new life safe from domestic and family violence.  The members of the Quota Club of Brisbane are looking forward to hosting the event which includes a raffle and a briefing about the Red Dress Project and Exhibition.

The Red Dress is a stunning example of worldwide collaboration where Embroiderers amplified their voices through stitches. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to view the dress brought to Australia after five years of collaboration between Kirstie Macleod textile artist from the UK, Janelle Byrne The Queensland Historical Women’s Association and All Threads Embroidery whose members embroidered the Australian swatch now part of the dress. The Exhibits at MoB and the Warwick Art Gallery were supported by the National Council of Women of Queensland, donations via the Go Fund Me page and a Grant from the Queensland Government. Numbers are limited RSVP 14 August.

The Quota Club of Brisbane is a not-for-profit organisation which supports the community through fundraising with a focus on supporting children particularly children with hearing loss. Members meet monthly to plan events and fundraising. New members are most welcome. We are a small band of community minded members who punch way above our weight. Affiliated with the National Council of Women of Queensland we are pleased to support the Red Dress Project.
