Robyn and Sandy were up early to make it in time for the Moggill State School assembly. With the significant growth in the school the need for a Sound Amplification System was urgent. Amanda Langdon, the Advisory Visiting Teacher – Hearing advocated for the Quota Club of Brisbane to make it a priority. Sandy officially presented the system at assembly in July explaining to the students how the Quota Club members raised money to pay for the system by having a car park fundraiser and selling sausages at a Bunnings BBQ. The staff, students and parents present were appreciative of the donation. Sandy and Robyn then attached an engraved plaque to the speaker after Jim Russell from the Hear Room installed the system in the year 1 classroom that will be its home. The system will enable the students to hear the classroom teacher more clearly. It has been noted that students with auditory processing difficulties, those with hearing loss, students with attention difficulties and those who have English as a second language all benefit from the system.
